An achievement and aspiration assembly with a focus on achievement. It lasts about 15-20 minutes if clips are watched and questions asked too. The assembly emphasises the value of hard work in achieving your aims, explains why teachers always set high targets and gives inspirational examples of famous and non-famous success stories from people who have worked hard. For the Gatsby Careers Guidelines - A careers assembly lasting around 20-25 minutes (including short clip) with a focus on why Careers Education is so important and how students can make the most of all the opportunities presented to them whilst in school. The assembly examines the cases of two fictional ex-students, Alisha and Jack, who didn’t take Careers Education seriously and ended up paying the price for it by adding years on to their lives in the time it took them to eventually find their ideal jobs. The slides in the previews are just a sample and not the whole assembly. This lesson has recently been updated for 2024, and students will spend the first part following the journey of a student called Katey, as she tries to gain a position in the tech industry.
